Who AI recommends for HVAC in Miami (Nov 2026)
In Miami, a broken air conditioner is urgent, and more homeowners now ask an AI assistant who to call. We asked ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini four common HVAC questions about Miami and wrote down exactly who they named and which sources they relied on.
How we tested
On November 2, 2026 (10:15–10:17 AM ET), we sent each question below to three AI engines through their official APIs, with web search switched on: ChatGPT (OpenAI gpt-4o-mini with web search), Perplexity (sonar) and Gemini (gemini-3.8-flash with Google Search grounding). 4 questions × 3 engines = 12 answers. We saved every answer word for word and counted which businesses each one named.
Read this as a snapshot, not a ranking. Each question was asked once. AI answers change by date, wording and location, and the apps you use on your phone can answer differently from the APIs. Being named by an AI is not an endorsement from us, and we have not checked the ratings or claims the AIs repeated.
The questions:
- Who is the best AC repair company in Miami, FL?
- Which HVAC company should I call for emergency AC repair in Miami?
- What are the top-rated HVAC contractors in Miami for a new AC installation?
- Who do locals recommend for air conditioning service in Miami, FL?

What stood out
- Little agreement between engines. Direct Air Conditioning was the one business we found named by all three engines (5 of 12 answers). Mr. AC Miami was named in 3 answers, all by ChatGPT.
- ChatGPT leaned on Google Maps. In all 4 of its answers, the ChatGPT model linked each business it named to a Google Maps listing.
- Perplexity and Gemini cited review sites, directories and manufacturers. Their most-cited sources included consumeraffairs.com (6 answers), bbb.org and carrier.com (4 each), and homedepot.com, cityvetted.com and birdeye.com (3 each). Trane’s site and contractors’ own websites were cited too.
- “Who do locals recommend” pulled in Reddit. For that question, Perplexity’s sources included Miami and Florida Reddit threads, and Gemini cited reddit.com in one of its answers.
- Gemini stressed local conditions, such as humidity, salt air and proper system sizing.
“Choosing an HVAC contractor in Miami requires finding a company with deep experience in South Florida's high-humidity, coastal environment to ensure proper system sizing (Manual J load calculations) and corrosion-resistant equipment.”
Gemini, asked “What are the top-rated HVAC contractors in Miami for a new AC installation?” on Nov 2, 2026
“When you call, confirm they can dispatch to your address now, ask about the after-hours diagnostic fee and arrival estimate, and get the repair price approved before work starts.”
Perplexity, asked “Which HVAC company should I call for emergency AC repair in Miami?” on Nov 2, 2026
“These ratings come from different directories and may use different review pools, so they’re best treated as a shortlist—not a guaranteed quality ranking.”

How to get your HVAC business named by AI in Miami
No one can guarantee an AI will recommend you. These steps improve the public signals the answers above relied on.
- Complete your Google Business Profile. Choose accurate HVAC categories, list AC repair, emergency AC repair, installation and maintenance as services, and mark 24/7 hours only if they are true.
- Keep manufacturer dealer listings accurate. Carrier’s and Trane’s sites were cited in these answers. If you are a factory-authorized dealer, check your listing.
- Be present where the AIs looked: BBB, ConsumerAffairs, Home Depot’s local services pages, Birdeye and similar review sites, with the same name, address and phone everywhere.
- Publish Miami-specific facts on your website: neighborhoods you serve, emergency hours, after-hours fees, your Florida license number, how you size systems, and warranty terms. These are details the AIs repeated or told homeowners to ask about.
- Earn reviews that mention the job and the area, such as an AC repair in Kendall or a new install in Doral.
- Re-check every month. Ask the questions your customers ask and note who is named. Answers change.
